How we calculate your flight emissions?
Over 80% of your traveling emissions come directly from the combustion of jet fuel, and ground transportation with the remaining emissions from maintenance, airports, Hotels and utilities.
To calculate your share of emissions for a travel, we start calculating emissions released by your aircraft on the sector, to the related emissions from ground activities, and then divide that amount by the number of passengers traveling. Using actual data in this way provides a strong estimation of the share of emissions attributable to each passenger on a travel. This data is updated each year.
If you're traveling, your emissions are calculated using the average emissions per kilometre, based on an average of all flights across the BIA network asnd Global Datas.
